I flew to Miami with other directors  for the opening of the New World Symphony.  The project we started from July 2010 is finally finished, AND long stressful 6 months is finally over, AND it is time for a party!

This project was to create animation for the ‘Picture at an Exhibition’ orchestrated by the New World Symphony  conducted by Micheal Tilson Thomas .  The sections were divided by various directors and my section was the last climax, ‘The Great Gate of Kiev’.

This new building was designed by FRANK GEHRY! I’ve been his fan since he designed the Guggenheim Museum in Spain.  I had been so excited that my film was going to be screened in Frank Gehry World.
Inside the building, there are 5 huge screens slightly shaped differently one another above the stage.  Being seated, you are completed surrounded by the screens all around you with the amazing LIVE performance of the orchestra.

The first night was the opening for the donors only.  My first time ‘Black Tie Event’.  The performance was a huge success and all the audience stood up and kept applauding forever!  MTT called us to come up on the stage so we got on the stage and vowed – Twice!  The public performance on the second day was also successful.  I sat in the different seats each performance so I enjoyed watching from different perspectives.

Entire time, my head was filled with worries if my film was going to be screened fine and couldn’t get my eyes off the screen.  But I got to sit in the middle at the last show and for the first time, I could really feel the orchestra.  The climax got me so emotional and I bursted into tears.  The emotional roller-coaster totally blew my brain and my heart away.  All my personal stress was gone and my high kept going for a week after the night.  It felt good to be alive.
